// WHY WE BUILT THIS

Fight Scout started from something pretty simple.

At work, a bunch of us were heavily into UFC. Every fight week we'd debate picks, argue over matchups, call upsets, and keep score against each other just for fun.

We realised there were fantasy apps for almost every major sport — but not really anything built properly for UFC fans. Most platforms leaned heavily into straight gambling, felt cluttered, or missed the community and competition side of fight culture.

At the same time, AI tools and vibe coding finally made it possible for someone like me — without a traditional programming background — to actually build the idea I'd had in my head for years.

So Fight Scout was born.

A platform for UFC fans to make picks, compete with friends, track rankings, and test their fight knowledge over time.

There's definitely a connection to betting culture — because let's be honest, fight fans naturally love predictions, odds, and trying to find value before the rest of the world sees it. But the core idea was always about competition, discussion, and community first.

No spreadsheets. No manual scorekeeping. No arguing over who called the upset three weeks later.

Just fight fans keeping score properly.

Because every UFC fan thinks they know the sport better than everyone else.

Fight Scout finally gives them a way to prove it.
